Spirit Energy is to invest in exploration and appraisal activity west of Shetland early next year, after farming into 50% of Hurricane Energy’s Greater Warwick Area.
Spirit will fund a £139 million campaign to drill three wells in licences operated by Hurricane. One will be drilled in the Lincoln discovery and two in the Warwick exploration prospect, estimated to hold 604 million barrels of oil equivalent in 2C contingent resources and 935 million boe of prospective resources, respectively.
The campaign will begin in Q1 2019. Should drilling and testing in the area be successful, Spirit and Hurricane aim to progress Lincoln and Warwick towards full field development. Read more…
